Day of the Death
Día de Muertos is a specifically Mexican term that refers to the Mexican version of two pan-Roman Catholic festivals: All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, celebrated on November 1 and 2, respectively.
The purest essence of these celebrations is found in indigenous and rural communities, where it is believed that the souls of the deceased return on these nights to enjoy the food and flowers offered to them by their loved ones.
